Final Learning Reflection

What did you learn in this class?

From this course, I learned many topics.
- Global English
- ESL and EFL learning context
- English language in ASEAN context
- Classroom learning context
- ICT in classroom
- CLT
- 21st century skills

What did you find easy?

For me, I think English language in ASEAN context
is easy lesson for me because English language in ASEAN context is very important in classroom in everyday and important for Thai context.

What did you find difficult?
For me, I think all of topic that we learn is difficult because I have to read many articles and research that have many difficult vocabulary and some technical term that I have known before.

How did you solve the problem?

My weakness is vocabulary skill. So, I try to discuss with my friend and try to search on dictionary online to find the difficult words and try to read by using only myself before using dictionary. Moreover, I try to prepare myself to read article and research before attend the class. I think the best way to improve myself by reading the article

What are your attitudes towards the lesson?

In the beginning, I know that this subject is very difficult. I have to read many books, articles and researches, even if sometimes I very lazy. because this subject is very important for me in my teaching in the future. For the teacher, I am very happy to learn with Dr. Usa Noytim again. The teacher is very kind. The teacher makes me feel relax when I study in this class. Moreover, the teacher teaches us not only about the content but also how to be a good teacher in the future. In addition, teacher gives a opportunities for us to ask and express my idea.

Today, I learnt about Sociocultural Theory in many topics;

1. What is Sociocultural Theory?
#Sociocultural theory is an emerging theory in psychology that looks at the important contributions that society makes to individual development. This theory stresses the interaction between developing people and the culture in which they live. This theory suggests that human learning is largely a social process. By Kendra Cherry
2. Zone of proximal development
3. Scaffolding
In education, scaffolding refers to a variety of instructional techniques used to move students progressively toward stronger understanding and, ultimately, greater independence in the learning process. The term itself offers the relevant descriptive metaphor: teachers provide successive levels of temporary support that help students reach higher levels of comprehension and skill acquisition that they would not be able to achieve without assistance. Like physical scaffolding, the supportive strategies are incrementally removed when they are no longer needed, and the teacher gradually shifts more responsibility over the learning process to the student.( http://edglossary.org/scaffolding/)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia In the middle circle, representing the zone of proximal development, students cannot complete tasks unaided, but can complete them with guidance. The zone of proximal development, often abbreviated as ZPD, is the difference between what a learner can do without help and what he or she can do with help.
